Five Reviews for Home-decor Shopping Sites
75
Online shopping is an easy and exciting way to shop and compare prices at dozens of stores without leaving the comfort of your home. But sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, especially when you type a keyword in the search bar and hundreds, even thousands of results pop up. Usually there will be major chain names listed, as well as smaller, possibly family-owned businesses that pop up. How do you know which ones are legitimate? Are you supposed to call each and every business? Reasearch reviews? Well, the answer to that is yes, ideally you do want to do these things. So I have provided you with a head start by researching and reviewing five online shopping sites for home decor.
1. Danielle's Fashion & Treasures
The first business that I have listed is my online business, Danielle's Fashion & Treasures. You are probably thinking to yourself, "Of course she is using this hub to advertise her own business!" and you are absolutely right. But in order to prove the legitimacy of the business, I have also listed four other sites who are my competitors. What can I say? I'm a good sport. Now, back to business. Danielle's Fashion & Treasures is a new online shopping site offering a large variety of home decor, gifts, unique items, and much more. Customer service hours are: Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, and your call will be answered by a real, live human being. We ship products internationally (with the exception of a few countries), and we accept all major credit cards. We offer a 100 percent money back guarantee on all of our products, and we will give you exceptional customer service every step of the way, and, if you would prefer to shop from a paper catalog, just call and ask, and one will be sent out. Because this is a new business, there are not too many reviews available, but I promise that you will not be disappointed!
2. Inside Avenue
Inside Avenue is a modern-style home decor company that offers a vast assortment of upscale products for your home. Their product catalog includes artwork, furniture, pillows, silk flowers, vases, wall decor, and much more. They offer the option to shop by style and/or brand. Their customer service hours are from Monday thru Friday, 9am-6pm est. An automated system answers, however, it is very easy to be transferred to a customer service rep. The person that I spoke with was polite, well-spoken, and knowledgeable about the business. The offer international shipping and they accept all major credit cards on their site. 3. Online Discount Mart
Online Discount Mart is a bargain site where you can find lots of neat and interesting decor for your home. They have a wide selection of products for your kitchen, bathroom, garden, and living areas. Their prices are affordable and their site offers a Tips and Ideas section to help you landscape and decorate your home. They also specialize in Halloween and Christmas decor. When I called, the phone was promptly answered by a woman with a pleasant and welcoming voice. She answered all of my questions and was very polite. Their customer service hours are 10am to 5pm, EST. They accept all major credit cards, and are an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau. Reviews about this site can be read by clicking here.
4. A Touch of Class
Touch of Class is a very upscale online company that offers high class, high quality home-decor. They offer a very wide selection of products for your home, with many of the items being exclusive products. Many of the products they offer have multiple choices of colors or sizes, and the site is very easy to navigate. When I called their customer service, an automated system answered and I was directed through a series of prompts. It is easy to get to a live customer service rep. I did have to wait, as the system told me I was caller number two, but my hold time was less than two minutes. The woman that answered the phone was very polite and friendly. She answered my questions thoroughly and thanked me for calling. Reviews for this company can be read by clicking here.
5. Sunland Home Decor
Sunland Home Decor is a company specializing in rustic and southwestern style decor. they have a vast product line, including pillows, candles, art, furniture, etc. They also feature exclusive, handwoven baskets. The site is very easy to navigate. When I called customer service, an automated system answered, but it was really easy to get to a customer service rep. The woman who answered was friendly and well-educated about the business. They accept all major credit cards on the site, and they offer e-gift certificates. They also have a Decorator's Discount Program, which offers discounts to professionals involved with some type of interior design. Customer service hours are 9am-5pm central. I was not able to find any web reviews for this company.
During my search for great online home decor companies, I came across a few that ARE NOT very good. I've listed them here with a brief explanation:
1. Factory Direct Craft
This website looks great at first. Beautiful design, a vast selection of products. But when I dialed the customer service number, it was out of service and also, the Verisign seal that they have put on the site is not valid, which is a very big red flag.
2.Home Decor Save.com
Not only does the url make the company sound phony, but when you actually visit the site, you will notice that there really is no customer service at all--the site tells you to call Overstock.com. And when you try to add items to the cart, the order page doesn't work anyway.

Nice thorough comparison and good review of some of the smaller places that don't get as much publicity.
